A brilliant forward and later centreman who could mark spectacularly, lead nicely and kick accurately over prodigious distances. He twice kicked a century of goals before a move to the centre in 1940 saw him run fourth in the Sandover Medal and win Perth’s fairest and best award. A spectacular crowd favourite, he was a seven-time state representative over four seasons and had his career cut short by a car accident at the end of 1940.
